April/May 2009: Juan's Preschool Graduation and Kids on Horses

So here is a post I should have made in the Spring! Photos of Juan's graduation from Inkameep. Mary Lu's end of the year bash at Strong Start, and both with their horse riding instructor, Emily. Lots more, too. Enjoy!

Off came the training wheels on Juan's bike this Spring and he didn't look back. He is so proud and was so brave. If we are going somewhere in town, he always wants to ride his bike.

Mary Lu hopped on this Spring also. Alas, she is still not tall enough to fit the Skuut I was so excited about, but she loves to sit on and push this other bike.

Juan and Mary Lu's first sleepover was with their friends Hadley and Sheridan from across the street. They had a blast.

With this Spring's baby horses at the barn.

Juan has started to enjoy riding now and usually comes to ride weekly at the same time as Mary Lu. Here he is on Sierra with Emily (who was their instructor until she left for college in June),

Mary Lu and Emily

Mary Lu is such an acrobat. I wish, wish, wish there were tumbling lessons to be had here, but, in their absence, she certainly makes due.

Mary Lu has spent as much of the Spring and Summer as possible in her swimsuits. I totally relate! I remember spending entire summers in my gymnastics leotard.

Seriously, how cute is this photo.

Mary Lu can swing like there's no tomorrow. It's definately her favorite playground activity. Ooh, I forgot to mention this. She loves to climb, as I've mentioned, well, this summer she swung across these dome shaped monkey bars like and totally blew my socks off. She was at the top of the dome, and she swung down, completely without me, hand over hand (but only one hand on a bar at a time) all the way down. She is so, so strong.

Mary Lu asleep in her lunch.

One of Juan's books. This one is called, "The Adventures of Juan."
