Grandma Ruthy Visits

Grandma is famous with the kids for her tasty oatmeal. Notably, it is not the kind from the package, but apparently that is what they were making this morning.

At the pumpkin patch in Oliver, BC with Strong Start

Mary Lu relating the legend of The Great Pumpkin. . .

Juan finds a good one, while Mary Lu takes off with her good buddy, Riley.

She really dug the wheelbarrows, as Juan always has loved such things.

Checking out a pumpkin. Mary Lu did not want to be down at the pumpkin patch because of the "pokey things." Pokey things haunt Mary Lu. They are often suddenly in her clothing, sheets, shoes, on my clothing when I'm holding her, etc. We spend a lot of time looking for pokey things.

The Strong Start group on this Thursday.

I think Juan has Hop on his arm here.

Loading the car, Juan is there with his flatbed.

You know, I generally don't like standing in the wind. Its mostly uncomfortable, hurts my eyes, and comes with a temperature that either chills me to my core or is so hot it makes it hard for me to breathe and dries out my skin. Mostly I seek shelter from standing in the wind.

But I love your standing in the wind. Even the way the words flow together and morph their meaning for me.

Thanks for commenting on Facebook so I could find your blog again. I skimmed to the back looking for a reference (heehee) but really was noting how beautifully your life seems to have evolved. Interesting that we often fear change and it is mostly just good. We're still at the beach, you know, change and wind averse!
The kids look almost the same to me. I like that. You are missed and often in my thoughts. I was thinking we could be commiserating (sp) about schools and I could just follow what you do again. Darn! xoxo Wendy G
