Jess, Mary Lu, and neighbor dog, Sasha take a walk in the park
Checking out the Christmas decorations as we get them out
Mary Lu's first, complete, salon hair cut (she's had a bang trim before and several mommy haircuts). She did great, she liked checking it out in the mirror.
Juan and Mary Lu each brought their doll along for a haircut as well.
Here I think we were heading to school. Juan made his Harpy clothes to wear out of tape and my fabric scraps.
These next couple photos are of Mary Lu heading into Strong Start in Oliver.
Mary Lu and friend, Riley's, birthday celebration at Strong Start
Mary Lu really likes playing on the mats during gym time

A meeting with Santa at the community center in Osoyoos. Things went much more smoothly between Santa and Mary Lu this year.
Here, Juan relates his list
A snowball fight during the Christmas celebration at the community center
Bubbles during bathtime
Another meeting with Santa, this time at Breakfast with Santa in Oliver. Santa sang a carol to Juan and Mary Lu this time which was pretty sweet.
Face painting during breakfast with Santa. Juan wanted to be Santa, and Mary Lu wanted a Santa on her face. Then, Juan convinced me that I should be a reindeer. I reluctantly said yes (we were going shopping at the mall in Penticton after), but only to a nose and antlers (since he insisted). Somehow the middle school artists took this to mean they should water color my entire face brownish-orange. It was hideous and they thought it was endlessly funny.
Mary Lu and Riley play in his crib at his birthday party.
The first donning of ski bibs this year
A step (or several) down from the tradition started last year of heading into the woods to cut our tree, we headed down the street to Prince's Wholesale Foods this year and bought one off the lot. Sigh. It was really cold and plans kept changing. . .blah, blah. Anyway, it was a nice, pretty tree, next year we can go get another hideous one up on the freezing tundra.

When I'm working, Mary Lu sometimes misses her nap. Here, she fell asleep on Juan while they were watching a movie.
Playing in the Christmas mail
Making cookies for Santa
and carrots for the reindeer
It's worth noting that Mary Lu is often shirtless, regardless of the season. At her birthday party this year, she was shirtless for a good half hour.
Both Mary Lu and Juan love washing dishes. It may be their favorite activity right now.
Juan checks out Curious George on Christmas morning. These next photos are all Christmas morning.
